2003 RESULTS
9-28-03 I-90 Speedway - I-90 Cheaters Day Races. Finished 2nd in qualifying race. Great side by side racing. Started 4th in the "A" feature and got shuffled back to 6th on the first lap, while everyone was battling for the bottom of the bone dry, dust flying, race track, Rick stuck it in on the top/middle and drove away from everyone, to nearly a straightaway length victory! First place finish and his second I-90 Speedway Cheaters Day Championship!
9-21-03 Huset's Speedway - National Cheaters Championship Day. Started near the back of the "A" feature and moved quickly thru the field only to spin out to avoid another spinning car and get sent to the rear again. Wicked fast, but ran out of time. 5th place finish. What a weekend.....
9-20-03 Huset's Speedway - National Cheaters Qualifying Day. Was pulling away in the heat race when two rods broke in the motor. With alot of help, we changed motors (in the dark) and made it out in time for the "B" feature. Started 6th and got a transfer spot into the "A" feature, only to have a head gasket go out on the last lap. Went home and started piecing another motor together.....
9-19-03 Rapid Speedway - Won heat, won "A" feature, won points championship! Great race with the #11 car. What a night! Lead the points every week. Aimee also DOMINATED the Women on Wheels annual race (again). After starting dead last and taking the lead, she got sent to the back (bad call), and she passed everyone again, overtaking the leader out of turn four for the checkers. WOW! So she maintains her perfect record of winning every race she has ever been in. I guess it's time to build her a hobby stock.
9-12-03 Rapid Speedway - Last points race. Too wet! Postponed one week.
9-07-03 Lake County Speedway - NMRA Nationals. 3rd in the heat. Another stinkin' 2nd place finish in the big feature! A great run on a very dry track. Just needed to find the bottom one lap sooner.
9-05-03 Rapid Speedway - 2nd in heat race. 4th in feature. Added to points lead with one race remaining!
9-01-03 Huset's Speedway - Annual Sertoma Charity race. Won heat race. Won "A" Feature! Car was great. Track was very fast. This is the third straight year to win this race!
8-29-03 Rapid Speedway - Won heat race. Another second place (by inches) in the "A" Feature. This is the 10th second place of the year! Have been leading the points every week since the first night. 2 more point races to go at Rapid Speedway.
8-22-03 Rapid Speedway - 5th in heat. DNF in the "A" feature. Ignition coil decide it wanted to quit working. Lost a huge amount of points tonight. 3 more point races to go.
8-19-03 I-90 Speedway - 4th in heat. 3rd in the "A" feature (started 12th). Good run. Lots of passing.
8-15-03 Rapid Speedway - 3rd in heat. 3rd in "A" feature. Race had no caution flags. Very little passing.
8-09-03 Lake County Speedway - 2nd in heat. 3rd in "A" feature (started 10th). Good, hard race.
8-08-03 Rapid Speedway - 4th in heat. 2nd in "A" feature. One groove track again.
8-01-03 Rapid Speedway - 3rd in heat. 2nd in "A" feature. New motor ran good. No cautions. Made up a lot of ground on the leader/winner.
7-25-03 Rapid Speedway - 2nd in heat. DNF in feature. Totally destroyed my 383. R.I.P. You will be missed.
First half of season recap. Started off the year with some great runs. Won the season opener on April 25th at Rapid Speedway. On May 9th, won the feature at I-90 Speedway. Then won the feature at Lake County Speedway on May 17th. On Memorial Day, won the feature at Huset's Speedway! 4 feature wins at 4 different tracks in the first 30 days. In June and July there were many second and third place finishes in the features. Races always seem too short when coming from deep in the field.
